The making of another world, part 3

I've been putting in even more details - plants, animals, birds, insects... Everything is native to this area.

I've asked the kids to pick out a butterfly for me to paint - I hope they like my renderings. They are my critics, pointing out any problems (not many, as of yet!), making suggestions, and generally being an inspiration. I'll have more pictures of the details, as well as the overall mural soon.

After a month or so and some work, I can post update photos of the mural.

The original pics can be seen here.

A True Dedication to Knitting

An Afternoon Club in Mersham, England has completed a knitted replica of the village. The project took 23 years! Now, that's dedication!

Woo!

Today, I was introduced to a really funny and creative man. His name is Howie Woo. You can check out his website at WooWork.com . He makes very unique crochet items and presents them to the world in a humorous way. His site has become a favorite of mine.

I hope you enjoy him, too!

This is a really cool and inventive use for surgical tubing. Extreme knitting you'll want to watch again and again.

The making of another world

One of my latest projects is a mural. It is above the big Barbie house at the lakehouse. Unfortunately, due to schedule conflicts and health issues, I haven't been able to work on it for a couple of weeks. Still, the kids seems to like it.

A Horrific Yarn

One of my favorite art blogs is Bent Objects.

His most recent submission is entitled "A Horrific Yarn". As a knitter, I found it amusing.

Footloose, but fancy free?

Finally, I have another project completed about which I can post. There has been such a drought. It's not that I haven't been working on knitting or crocheting, I just haven't finished anything! That is, until today.

I am happy to present a pair of Footloose Lacey Tube Socks that I made for my youngest dd. They are made with worsted weight yarn (I used Caron Simply Soft) and are to be used with her boots when she plays in the snow.

The pattern was a free Pattern of the Day from Annie's Attic. So, if you missed it and want to get it now, you need to buy it at e-PatternsCentral.com for $1.29 (US).

I'm making another pair for my oldest, but in purple - her favorite color.
