Well, Momma Duck has abandoned the nest. I found an egg in the driveway yesterday and carefully put it back in the nest in the hopes that she had just left for food. Today, I found the nest disturbed again and the egg gone. So, no baby duck for us.
The girls are sad, but it is a good lesson in life.

The "Proselytize Knitting" Badge - I often knit if public places. And I am decidedly not hip!
MacGyver Badge (Level One) - I've used the following as stitch markers: rubber band, paper clip, hair tie; I've cut yarn with nail clippers;
MacGyver Badge (Level Two) - I've used a lighted knitting needle as a flashlight and a knitting needle as a hair pin (it keeps a french twist in place in a pinch). I'm sure there are other times. I just can't think of them!
"I Will Impress You With My Math Prowess" Badge - Well, I'm not a math wiz, but I can substitue yarns without a reference guide, I can space increases and decreases evenly and even use math in my knitting projects. So, there.
Knitting Whilst Under the Influence Badge - Yes, I have knitted while drinking a wine cooler. Shame on me.
Knitting Has Forced Me to Seek Medical Attention Badge (Level One) - Okay, maybe this one hasn't been completely earned, but I've come close. While I haven't been to a doctor, I have the beginnings of Carpal Tunnel in both wrists from knitting & crocheting. I've received blisters, pin/needle pricks, lacerations from my knitting needles, bruises, stiff neck & shoulders. Not to mention that all that sitting hasn't helped my weight or the early stages of fibro!
Inordinately Fond of Novelty Yarn Badge - Oooh, fuzzy yarn! I love it! Sueded, sparkly, bumpy, lumpy, stretchy - fun, fun, fun!
